Mentoring Services:
Animal Awakenings is currently mentoring in
person or by phone for a variety clients. Current clients
include teens, graduate students, and adults in middle stages
of life seeking to uncover their own intuition and skills for
facilitating healing. Sessions are created to fit you or
your family's unique needs and desires.
Teen Mentoring~
Some teens are in need of more than basic
psychotherapy. They find it difficult to engage in an office
setting, and "talk therapy" only provides some relief and
insight. After 12 years of working with adolescents, Jennifer
has discovered that her most effective sessions were facilitated in
the community. Activities that the
adolescent enjoys are used as a medium to bond with the mentor and
promote change. Healthy recreation and life-skill building are
emphasized. Most teens learn to trust and open up more
quickly, and are able to apply the skills obtained in a variety of
situations.
Examples of
mentoring sessions include: Visiting coffee shops, hiking, biking,
walking/jogging, going out to eat, shopping, going to the bank (for
money management skills)

Teaching~
Teaching is also available
by phone or in person for Animal Communication or Equine Assisted
Psychotherapy. Jennifer partners with a group
of intuitive and dynamic horses at Green Tree Equine
Facility in order to provide you with an authentic, hands-on
session to practice your skills. You also may choose to work
with your own animals, either in your home or remotely.
Jennifer's experience includes 4 years of teaching the 2nd
year, Naropa Wilderness Therapy Students, 2 years of teaching the
Equine Awakenings Mentorship, along with a variety of workshops,
groups, and individuals.
Animal Awakenings is currently offering beginning
and advanced level Mentorships for graduate students of
psychotherapy who wish to pursue Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy as
a path of service. The curriculum includes group and
individual experiential exercises to enhance skills and
understanding of EFP treatment paradigms. Homework assignments
supplement learning in between monthly group and individual

Spiritual Mentoring~
Do you feel called
to learn more about your own spiritual path? Are you
having difficulties in understanding your self , your purpose and
unique gifts?
Are you confused
about your spiritual belief system and how to incorporate it more
fully into your everyday life?
Equine Awakenings supports you in finding your
unique gifts to offer to the world while developing a more
intimate relationships in your community. You are guided to
uncover skills that can be utilized to help you feel more present,
conscious and satisfied with your choices. You will gain
deeper insight into your own divine plan that your soul
chose in order to grow and learn in this
lifetime.
 Shawn (photo to the right) has recently
completed her undergraduate studies in Social Work and is
receiving mentoring in order to
expand her relationship with her authentic
self and enhance her skills in Animal Assisted
Therapy.
